Tollantusky Trail

Named for the Cherokee Chief Tollantusky, who was a very distinguished chief of the Arkansas Cherokee. He came with other Cherokee from Tennessee to Arkansas in 1809. They settled on the Arkansas River and it is believe that Tollantusky lived at Cadron between 1809 and 1817. He was instrumental in executing several treaties with the U.S. Government. He died in 1818 and was succeeded by his brother Chief John Jolly.

The cemetery is a short walk across a foot bridge and up a steep incline past this sign near the pathway. The cemetery is very well maintained and has a rail fence surrounding it.
