Uncle John Wise, 74 years of age, died recently at his home near Wedington in the west part of the county.

WISE, John – Mrs. Nancy E. Wise, widow of John Wise, who died March 23, 1909, filed Widow Application #21577 with the Confederate Pension Board of Washington County for a Confederate widow pension and it was received as allowed August 16, 1917 at the State, citing her husband’s service with the Arkansas Infantry from 1862 thru 1865. Mrs. Wise died December 10, 1938.
