SILOAM SPRINGS — Darrell Reading, 69, of Siloam Springs died Sept 9, 2006, at his home. He was born June 27, 1937, in California to Gene Reading and Mildred Bass Reading. He moved to Northwest Arkansas as a small child. He grew up in the Fairmount Community and graduated from Gentry High School. He was a truck driver for more than 5 years and retired from Gates Rubber Company. He enjoyed water skiing and camping. He married Elsie Mae Marshall on Nov. 26, 1977. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Reading.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Mae Reading of the home; one son, Darrell Reading II and wife Lisa of Rogers, one daughter, Roxanna Kirby of Siloam Springs; one stepson, Bill Gammill of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Doug Reading of Oklahoma City; one sister, Fayelene Hill of Siloam Springs; one half-brother, Jim Marsh of Westville, Okla.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairmount Cemetery near Gentry with Jack Steele officiating. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Wasson
