SMITHVILLE -- Jerry Wayne Pickett, 27, of Smithville died Monday, Oct. 28, at his residence.

Born in Pocahontas, he was a graduate of Williford High School, served in the Arkansas National Guard for six years and worked as a mechanic for Hoxie Flying Service. He lived in Ravenden before moving to Smithville six years ago and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Heather Haynes Pickett of the home; a daughter, Jordan Virginia Pickett of the home; his parents, Gene and Carolyn Gann Pickett of Ravenden; a brother, Alexander Scott Pickett of Smithville; three sisters, Cynthia Ann Pickett Patrick and Nancy Elaine Pickett, both of Pocahontas and Kimberly Jean Blakeney of Walnut Ridge; a half sister, Jena Heisch of Syracuse, N.Y.; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Virginia Pickett of Ravenden.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home at Walnut Ridge, with Charles Morgan and Jackie Pickett officiating.

Burial will follow in Lonoke Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
