FAYETTEVILLE — Carole M. Plemmons, 71, Of Fayetteville, formerly of Bentonville, Ark., died at her son's home in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. She was born on April 4, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, to Ray Comfort and Elsie (Watson) Comfort.
She attended school in Bentonville, Ark., from 1946 through 1957 and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1961 with a BSE.
She married Robert S. Plemmons in 1958. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She taught school in Little Rock, Ark.; San Antonio, Texas; Neville High School in Monroe, La., and Chatham, La. She and her husband owned and operated a retail business for several years in Chatham. She was employed by CEI Engineering Associates in Bentonville from 1982 until she retired in 1996. She was a member of New Hope Fellowship in Springdale, Ark., and Was active in their women's ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Plemmons; and three brothers, Frank Comfort, Robert Comfort and Paul Comfort.
She is survived by her son, Robert "Andy" Plemmons of Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandsons, Blakely Plemmons and Larkin Plemmons, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Richard Comfort of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Juanita Lee of Houston, Texas, Norma Copelin and her husband, Bill, of Bentonville, Ark., and Margaret Stigers and her husband, Charles, of Butte, Mont.; 17 nephews and nieces; and several great-nephews and -nieces.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Bentonville City Cemetery, B Bentonville, Ark., with Pastor Cliff Jenkins officiating.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
