Lila Mustin Browner, 80, long time resident of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center, Little Rock of Heart Disease.

Lila was born in Holly Grove, Arkansas, to Erna Hamilton Mustin and Minnie Eva McKoy Mustin, on October 27, 1930. She is one of seven children. She married Carl Timothy Browner on February 27, 1959.

Lila graduated Holly Grove High School in 1953 and went on to attend Monticello A & M, Monticello, Arkansas, on full academic scholarship. During her studies there, she was elected president of the Home Economics Club as well as being a member of the annual staff, chemistry club, women’s recreation association, and treasurer of the Home Economics Club. She graduated Arkansas State Teachers College, Conway. After college, she taught school for a few years as a Home Economics teacher in the Pangburn Public School system before marrying the love of her life, Carl T. Browner. She was a faithful and devoted wife to Carl for 52 years of love and happiness.

Lila was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, Little Rock.

She is survived by her husband, Carl T. Browner, 90, of Little Rock; a host of his relatives; brothers Bill and Leonard Mustin of California; nephews: Ross Mustin, Glen Mustin, Marc Mustin and Jim Mustin, all of California, Steve Mustin of Colorado, Harold Mustin of Alabama, Andy Mustin of Arkansas and Robert Dilmore of Texas; nieces: Barbara Mustin of New Mexico, Luci Mustin-Best and Amie Mustin of Arkansas, and Roja Dilmore-Rios of Florida; and 10 grand nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Erna Hamilton Mustin and Minnie Eva McKoy Mustin, Brothers Milton James Mustin and Erna Hamilton Mustin, Jr., and sisters Betty Ellen Mustin and Roxie Jean Mustin Dilmore.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501)224-8300, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Final resting will be at Shiloh Cemetery, outside Holly Grove, Arkansas.

Lila believed that family is everything and even though people are gone they must never be forgotten. Lila will never be forgotten.
