Until 1863, the Masons held meetings in “Forrest Home”.
Little is known of this home, except that there was a
chaplain there; many believe this to have been a home for
disabled soldiers.
In 1863, Benjamin F. Kerr and Henry Dickson Green
erected a log building on the west corner of Macedonia
Cemetery. This place was used as the meeting place for
the Masons.
Macedonia Cemetery, located about 1 ½ miles south of
Holly Grove, was part of the Kerr plantation and was
donated to the community.
