SILOAM SPRINGS — Victor Shields, 88, of Siloam Springs died April 9, 2005, in Siloam Springs. He was born April 8, 1917, in Highfill to Arthur C. and Lela Rea Summers Shields. He lived most of his life in the Fairmount community. He married Opal Burden on Oct. 31, 1938, and was a dairy farmer and an agent and board member for Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. in Gentry. He was a member of East Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church and a longtime caretaker of Fairmount Cemetery. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Shields.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Lyle Shields and wife Cynthia of Rogers; one daughter, Faye Roberts and husband Parker of Gentry.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Ronnie Bradshaw and the Rev. Marvin Loyd officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 till 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

SILOAM SPRINGS — Opal Christine Shields, 87, of Siloam Springs died Jan. 30, 2008, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Piney, Okla., to George Washington Burden and Elsie Little Burden.
She moved to Siloam Springs when she was 10 years old. She was a homemaker and a member of Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Shields and one daughter, Linda Shields.
Survivors include one son, Lyle Shields of Rogers; one daughter, Faye Roberts and husband Parker of Gentry.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with Marvin Loyd and Ronnie Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
