Ben was born November 8th. 1921, to the loving parents; Fred and Avie Woolsey, who has preceded him in passing along with his sisters; Ruth Jones; Pearl Melton; Edith Kizer; and Grace Davis. Brothers; Harry Woolsey; Robert (Bob) Woolsey, and Lenard Woolsey.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven short years Elizabeth Jewell Woolsey, daughter & son-in-law; Margaret &Dennis Pinder of Richardson Tx.;son & daudhter-in-law; Robert & Taniel Woolsey of Russellville, Grandchildren include; Karen Isbell, Lisa Phwandaphwanda; Lindsay Woolsey; Leslie Black; Great-grandchildren; Madeleine Isbell; Miriam, Naomi, and Esther Phwandaphwanda, and Milani Carter.

Ben served in BTRY A 250th. FA BN of the United States Army. During World War II, he served in Central Europe, Rhineland, Northern France, and Normandy. He received four Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation.

Ben marries Jewell Lindsey and began farming at Mountain Top, north of Ozark. Besides farming for 52 years, they both retired after 25 years at the Child Life Shoe Corp. in Clarksville. After moving to Russellville in 1997 Ben and Jewell worked for eight years at the Pope County Senior Center.
Ben was a charter member of Batson Baptist Church where he served as deacon, secretary, bus driver. Upon moving to Russellville, Ben joined the Russellville First Baptist Church and was a member of the Berean Sunday School class.

Pallbearers were Brian Woolsey, Paul Isbell, Kondwani Phwandaphwanda, Cody Black, Ron Newton, and Emmitt Barnes.

Elizabeth Jewell Woolsey went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at the age of 85, passing peacefully at her home in Russellville surrounded by family.
Jewell was born March 10, 1929, to Steve and Vera Lindsey in Clarksville.

In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Ben Harrison Woolsey; and three of her brothers and sisters, Alice Lindsey Hiner, Ray Lindsey and Juanita Lindsey Boen.

Jewell is survived by her daughter, Margaret Pinder and her husband, Dennis, of Richardson, TX; her son, Robert Woolsey and his wife, Taniel, of Russellville; grandchildren include Karen Isbell and her husband, Paul, Lisa Phwandaphwanda and her husband, Kondwani, Lindsay Woolsey, and Leslie Black and her husband, Cody; great-grandchildren include Madeleine Isbell, Miriam, Naomi and Esther Phwandaphwanda, Milani Carter and Nora Grace Black; brother, Floyd Lindsay and his wife, Jean, of Springdale; and two sisters, Linda Carol Ryan and her husband, William, of Mulberry, and Ruby Wyers of Cleveland, Ohio.

Jewell loved her family in an exceptional way. She loved cooking for and serving them at every opportunity. In addition, throughout her life Jewell developed numerous close friendships that endured for years.

After Ben returned from World War II, he and Jewell were married and began farming for over 52 years at Mountain Top, north of Ozark. In addition, they both retired after 25 years at Child Life Shoe Corporation in Clarksville. Jewell also worked a few years at Fred's. After moving to Russellville in 1997, Jewell and Ben worked for eight years at the Pope County Senior Center.

Jewell was a charter member of Batson Baptist Church where she served many years as the song leader. Upon moving to Russellville, Jewell joined Russellville First Baptist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class.

A celebration of life began at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Mike Cloud officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. in Highland Cemetery at Ozark officiated by the Rev. Mike Shields, and under the direction o Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Visitation was from 4:30-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Brian Woolsey, Paul Isbell, Kondwani Phwandaphwanda, Cody Black, Ron Newton and Emmitt Barnes.
