Allyne Park of Ozark passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, in Fort Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Park; a brother, Herman Harris; and her son, Harry Wilson.

Allyne is survived by her daughter, Lu Ann Renfro and her husband Bob of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Jill Baker and her husband Aaron of McCurtain, Okla.; her other grandchildren, Nancy and Harris; two great-grandchildren; her very close friend who was like family, Linda Mason; and a host of friends who loved her very much.

In her younger days during World War II, she worked in California in the shipyards as a welder. She loved the work there. Later, when she came back to Arkansas, she married Luke and his job took them to live in several states over the years. They came back to Ozark to live, where she worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Bill Gibbons until she retired.

She loved life and it showed in everything she did. One of her favorite hobbies was dancing. She and her friends would go to several different towns in the area — wherever there was a dance. She also enjoyed reading. She read her Bible daily and any religious books that had daily Bible readings. She would go to the library and check out books every week or two. She enjoyed walking and would walk three miles daily until she fell and broke her hip. She continued walking after she recovered, until the day she passed away.

Allyne loved to talk about the Lord and did so with anyone who would listen. She would tell people how the Lord had healed her many times and how wonderful He was to her. Her family was very important to her as well. She prayed for them every day. She always included Linda, her family, and her other friends she loved.

Allyne’s daughter would call her daily to check on her and to tell her how much she was loved. Allyne touched a lot of lives with hers. Everyone who met her loved her. She was such an inspiration to so many. She taught her family and friends the true meaning of love and about life. She would say she wanted to be a blessing to someone every day, and she truly was. She let her light shine for everyone to see.

Allyne served on the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board for a couple of years. She also served on the Franklin County Senior Citizen Board of Directors as a board member. Allyne loved the Senior Citizen Center. She came often and always enjoyed a game of rook. She would come back in the afternoon and have a glass of tea and visit with us.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Bro. Coyce Couch officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
