Daniel E. Raper, “Pooh”, of Hot Springs, went to heaven on Monday, January 18, 2010, in a Little Rock hospital due to a heart condition. Born May 5, 1939 in Carlisle, Arkansas to Ernest and Hazel Raper, he was a retired Chevrolet salesperson and Human Resources employee. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He was predeceased by a brother, Randy Raper of Hazen and a sister, Eloise Shedd of Searcy.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Raper of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and Denise Rapier of Lowell; Rob and Amy Snider of Hot Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Paul Berry of Des Arc, and Missy and Ron Vetter of Hot Springs; eleven grandchildren, Kevie, Josie, Dustin, Laney, Catherine, Robert Paul “Bo”, Bruin, Kayla, Cole, Elizabeth and Rachel; numerous classmates, friends and everyone else that knew Danny as “Pooh”.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Beyer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church Youth, 105 Village, Hot Springs, AR 71913 or Hot Springs Community Foundation, Attn: S.G.T. Hearnsberger Memorial, P.O. Box 56, Hot Springs, AR 71902
The family will be receiving visitors at the home of Rob and Amy Snider, 103 San Pedro Drive, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
