Obituary
Dolorice Opal Blue, 88, of Des Arc died Sunday May 22, 2011 at her home. She was born January 12, 1923 in Maple Hill, Kansas to Thomas and Anna (Wax) Cotton.

She was a member of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church. She wore many different hats…. mother, housewife, avid sports fan for her grand and great grandchildren, gardener, quilter, sewing, and growing flowers.

She was always ready to help anyone in any way she could. In the ice storm of a few years ago she helped her neighbors and friends by providing food, heat and beds.

Family and home were her pride and joy. A huge family get together was the highlight of her life. She was born one of eight children. She and her family moved to this area in 1959 and have remained here.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Finis Blue; three sons, Wayne Smith, Sammy Smith, and Dennis Blue; one grandson, Gary Cunningham; and one great grandson, Nathan Pickrell.

She is survived by four daughters, Sue (Dennis) Gurley, Brenda (Jerry) James, Peggy (Bobby) Merrell, Linda Kloss all of Des Arc; one son, Larry (Kathy) Blue of Ward; one special friend, Nettie Mae Stephens, and one special "adopted" daughter, Jodie (Robert) Love of Des Arc; nineteen grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8 Monday May 23, 2011. Funeral services are 2:00 P M Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Lakeside Cemetery by Garth Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Addison officiating.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Randy Pickrell, Bobby Cunningham, Scott Cunningham, Lee Merrell, Michael Merrell and Larry Blue II.
