Debra Jeane Gentry passed from this earth on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 after a hard fought, 6 month battle with cancer. Debra was known to most all Family and Friends as “Debbie” or Aunt Debbie. She was born May 23, 1955 in South Bend, Indiana. She was a lifelong resident of Des Arc, Arkansas and a Des Arc High School Graduate of 1973. She loved camping, fishing, singing and being with her family. She was always very active in her church. She was a member of the Gospel singing group “Mission Light Singers.” Debbie had not only a talent for singing, but she wrote countless songs and poetry.
Debbie was preceded in death, by the Love of her Life of 26 years, Ronnie Gentry; her Mother and Father Jeane Williams and Bailey Crawford. She is survived by 3 brothers, Richard Williams of Springfield, OH, Jon Crawford of Vilonia, AR, William Dougherty of Alexander, AR, and one sister, Dianna Dougherty of Des Arc. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt and humble Thank You for the out pouring of thoughts and prayers, throughout this most difficult time. And especially the doctors, nurses, and support personnel at Baptist Hospital, the Des Arc Ambulance Services, and her Home Health Care Nurses. Visitation is 10:00 A M to 8:00 P M Saturday March 15, 2014 at Garth Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00 P M Sunday March 16, 2014 at Des Arc Pentecostal Church of God with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Griffin officiating. Pallbearers are Bruce Sutton, John Lee Buckner, Joe Hicks, Jr, Scott Barnes, Terry Gentry, Elmo Sutton, Bobby Halfacre, Newton Buckner.
