Raymond William "Buffalo" Irvin, son of the late Ray Irvin and Lucille Clevinger Irvin, was born January 8, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life October 26, 2012 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 25 days. He spent his life as a son, brother, soldier, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. He served in the United State Marine Corp from 1958 - 1963 during the Vietnam War. During his working years, he was a self-employed carpenter. He was united in marriage to Rose Cooper on April 9, 1983 in Brockwell, Arkansas. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Rose Irvin of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Brandy and Charley Kelly of Kotzebue, Alaska; two sons and two daughters-in-law: James and Carrie Irvin of Center, Arkansas and Joe and Sara Irvin of Highland, Arkansas; two brothers: Bob Irvin of Gainesville, Missouri and Jack Irvin of Antioch, Illinois; four grandchildren: Cooper Irvin, Cole Irvin, Ashlyn Taylor and Tyler Kelly and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Fred Irvin.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Danny Brightwell officiating. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Saturday, November 3 beginning at 12 noon.
Pallbearers: Paul Scott, John Vest, Danny Wilson.
