VIOLET HILL — Clyde Edmond Cranford, 70, of Violet Hill died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at his home.
Born Nov. 27, 1942, in Albion, Okla., he was the son of Clyde Ermon Cranford and Agnes Moore Cranford. In 1962, he was united in marriage to Janice May Gahagan in Delhi, Calif.
He was employed as an aircraft mechanic at Boeing Aircraft in Melbourne, a bus driver and mechanic for Izard County Consolidated School District, at B & B Supply in Franklin and farmed and worked as a carpenter.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Violet Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years; two sons, James Ray Cranford of Batesville and Clyde Darin Cranford of Melbourne; a daughter, Connie Sellers of Hardy; a brother, Billy John Cranford of Alaska; two sisters, Bernice Faye Rainwater of Muse, Okla., and Charlotte Marie Nail of McAlester, Okla.; six grandchildren, Sydney Whiteaker, Jaime Cranford, Samantha Cranford, Shayeeda Beard, Cody Cranford and Alex Cranford; and seven great-grandchildren, Connor Cranford, Braxton Whiteaker, Riley Whiteaker, Corbin Cranford, Laith Cranford, Zabriel Cranford and Kiera Cranford.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Violet Hill Cemetery with Randy Bailey officiating. Arrangements are by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
