FRANKLIN — Lehman Jackson, 90, of Franklin died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in Horseshoe Bend.
Born May 16, 1921, in Myron, he was the son of Hamblin Manley Jackson and Arie Wallace Jackson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 21. His tour of duty during World War II took him to Normandy, Rhineland, northern France and central Europe. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County. He was united in marriage to Pauline O'Neal in April 1946. He was a cattle farmer and a truck driver.
Survivors include two brothers, Bartus Jackson of Goldsboro, N.C., and Doris Wayne Jackson of Kansas City, Mo.; six nephews; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years; a brother, Marvin Jackson; and two sisters, Paulean Hill and Retha O'Neal.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Violet Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Mike Dillard, Bill Davis, Chris Grant, Lee Grant, Greg O'Neal and Scott O'Neal.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Shaver and Kennard Billingsley.
