Patsy Ellis Stephenson, 57, of Eudora died Friday, January 18, 2008, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. A native and lifelong resident of Eudora, she was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. She was the great-great-granddaughter of one of the earliest settlers of Chicot County. She was an avid reader of the Bible and loved to garden and take walks.
She is survived by her husband, Everett "Bud" Stephenson; her parents, Ester & Bonnie Ward Ellis, all of Eudora; two brothers, Lester Carrol Ellis and wife Marcy of Cabot and Randall Alan Ellis of Eudora; two nephews, Steven Ellis of Maumelle and Brian Ellis of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a great-nephew, Peyton Ellis; a great-niece, Anna Grace Ellis; an aunt, Lucille Atkins of Eudora; an uncle, Bennie Ward of Nesbit, Mississippi and several cousins.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, in the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Christmas officiating. Burial was to follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Roger Parker, Bo Edwards, Lawrence Edwards, Kenny Clark, Albert Nichols and Bill Martar. Funeral arrangements are by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
