SILOAM SPRINGS — Joseph "Joe" Haynes Stockton, 85, of Siloam Springs died Dec. 25, 2001, at Siloam Springs. He was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Memphis, Tenn., to Frank and Edna Chambers Stockton. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Siloam Springs First Baptist Church, the national and Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society; the Sertoma Club in Memphis and a member and past president of the National Association of Homes for Boys. He was the director of the Memphis Boy's Town and founder and director of Youth Town in Jackson. He was also a staff member at Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Kelchner Stockton, to whom he was Married in 1966; one son, Winsor Charles Stockton of Memphis; one foster daughter, Glenda Carter of Siloam Springs, one sister, Francis Sides of Memphis; two grandsons; one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
