Almond J. (Eugene) "Sonny" Harris, 64, of El Dorado, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born August 29, 1949 in Village, the son of Colonia and Clara (Hildreth) Harris. He was employed by Ainsworth in Mount Holly, as a log truck driver, until he retired. He is a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include three daughters, Shawn Harris of El Dorado, Sonya Hunter of Waldo and Brandy Paschal of Magnolia; four sons, Kevin Harris, Mike Harris, Rodrick Davis and Almon Harris, all of Dallas; seven sisters, Evelyn Anderson of Houston, Clara Mullins and Peggy Harris of Village, Cindy Burkett of Independence, Mo., Allison White of Los Angeles, and Lynn Moore and Barbara Pugh of Milwaukee; three brothers, Paul Harris of Magnolia, Ronnie Harris of Bossier City, La., and Jimmy Harris of Dallas; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. Friday at Henderson's Mortuary in Magnolia. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary with the Rev. Theodore Smith officiating. The Rev. Earnest Moore will be the eulogist. Burial will follow in Damascus Cemetery.
