James Albert Cain, born 1798 died ca 1880; Mary Polly DICKEY Cain, born 1803 died ca 1874. James Albert Cain was the son of Patrick & Sally Cain; husband of Mary DICKEY Cain, married April 21, 1821 in Salem, Kentucky.

The graves of James Albert Cain and his wife, Mary DICKEY Cain, were originally marked with matching round-top tombstones and footstones (shown in photo - their original round top stones are the ones on the left side of photo). There is now a new marble double tombstone purchased by descendants, which sets between their footstones. The original tombstones and footstones remain.


The new tombstone reads:
Mary Dickey Cain, 1803-1874, Born South Carolina
James Albert Cain, 1798-1880, md. April 21, 1821 at Salem, Kentucky. Parents of: Hiram, Martha M., James M., John W., Elizabeth, Patrick, Mary Jane, Susan, Sarah
