DECATUR — Janice Goates, 49, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at the Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonville.
Janice was a Christian and a homemaker, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Melvin Stacy and Dorthey (Bowman) Stacy; one sister, Sue Goates; four brothers, Jimmy, Curtis, Garry and Robert Stacy.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Goates of the home in Decatur; two children, Phillip Stacy of Bella Vista, Kimberly Brooks of Decatur; one stepson, Ronnie Goates of Ozark; one stepdaughter, Sharon Baltazar and husband, Rod, of Alamogordo, NM.; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Darrin, Samantha, Trevor, Brett, Ashley and Nevaeh; two stepgrandchildren, Nyah and Derick; one sister, Linda Denny and husband, Dean, of Colcord, Okla.; four brothers, Darrell Stacy and wife, Cindy, of Decatur, Ricky Stacy and wife, Michelle, of Decatur, Eric Stacy and wife, Marcell, of Pea Ridge, and Randy Stacy of Fayetteville; a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Benton County Memorial Park's Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, with the Rev. Chuck Bengtson officiating. A private family service will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.
