SILOAM SPRINGS — Gary Hays Dunlap, 68, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sept. 4, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark. Born July 3, 1944, in Prairie Grove, Ark., he was the son of Bill Bailey and Betty and Hurehel Dunlap.

He was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas and a 1962 graduate of Siloam Springs High School. Gary retired from United Telephone Company after working for 25 years and then was self-employed until 2011.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild; his parents; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Parks of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Jerra Torna and husband, Steve, of Montana, and Sherri Copeland and husband, Scott, of Kansas, Okla.; two sons, Gary Dunlap and wife, Amy, of Highfill, Ark., and Wesley Mabry and wife, Melissa, of Centerton, Ark.; 14 grandchildren: two great-grandchildren; stepson, Kent Riley and wife, Jamie, of Edgertown, Mass.; stepdaughter, Tonya Mobley and husband, Brian, of Mint Hill, N.C.; one brother and one sister; and a very special friend, Lonnie Eudy of Siloam Springs.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Lonnie Nelson and Roger Reid officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siloam Springs Library, 401 W. SILOAM SPRINGS — Linda Younger Parks went to be with the angels on Nov. 21, 2012. She was born Aug. 28, 1948, to Nadine Ford Younger and Walter L. (Bump) Younger.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Siloam Springs. She passed away after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Even after her diagnosis, she continued to have a cheerful attitude and enjoy life. She was a source of joy for her family and made them smile.

Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs since childhood. She graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1966, and maintained close friendships with marry of her classmates throughout her life. She had many friends and was loved by all who met and knew her.

Linda was retired from Dayspring, where she worked for over 20 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed her job and friends at Curves, but had to leave when she became too ill.

Linda was an excellent cook and loved sharing her food with others. She did a lot of cooking for holidays and special occasions for family and friends. She even created a cookbook for her family, ensuring that her recipes can be enjoyed for years even after she's gone.

Linda was an amazing seamstress. She sewed clothing for herself, her children and her grandchildren. She made puppets, hats and all sorts of things as gifts for those she loved. Her memory will live on in her creations.

Linda enjoyed traveling to many wonderful places. She traveled to places like Switzerland, Mexico, the Virgin islands, Santa Fe and New York City for vacations, and spent time in Martha's Vineyard, Mass., Houston, Texas, and Charlotte, N.C., visiting family.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Dunlap, Linda and Gary shared the love of their animals, beginning with their blond cocker spaniels and ending with their kitties.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. and Nadine Younger; her first husband, Jerry Riley; her second husband, Marc A. Logan; and a grandson, Jude Tiergan Logan-Carsten.

Linda is survived by her son, Kent Riley and wife, Jamie, of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; daughter, Tonya Logan Mobley and husband, Brian, of Mint Hill, N.C.; and grandchildren, Adeline Riley, Miles Riley, Christopher Reynolds and Savanna Mobley.

Other survivors include sister, Beverly Joyce and husband, Bub, of Houston, Texas; sister, Marilyn Jackson and husband. Bill, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; nephew, Michael Jackson of Dover, N.H.; nephew, Michael Jackson of Clarksville, Ark.; aunt, Maxine Thomason of Siloam Springs; stepdaughter, Jerri Torna and husband, Steve, of Laurel, Mont.; stepdaughter, Sherri Copeland and husband, Scott, of Kansas, Okla.; stepson, Gary Dunlap and wife, Amy, of Gentry, Ark.; and stepson. Wes Mabry and wife, Melissa, of Centerton, Ark.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Malcolm Hayward, Dr. Bill Nowlin and Sherry Fenno. In addition, a very special thank you to Lonnie Eudy for his wonderful friendship to both Gary and Linda.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, Ark., Dr. Steve Abbott officiating.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
