SILOAM SPRINGS — G. Eileen Pruitt, 90, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sept. 8, 2012, at her home. Born June 8, 1922, in St. James, Mo., she was the daughter of Jesse H. Pruitt and Catherine Ann Lenox Pruitt. Eileen served her country in the Naval WAVES during World War II. She was in the fifth class of WAVES and became a 1st Class Petty Officer making her one of the first classes of women to enter the Corry Field Base in Pensacola, Fla. Ms. Pruitt attended and graduated from the Parsons College, Parsons, Kan. She also attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ark. Ms. Pruitt was an accountant for Simmons Foods for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ed, Floyd and Lawrence; one sister, Hazel; one niece, Norma Jean "Jeannie" McLemore; and one nephew, William P. Patton.
Survivors include one brother Lennox Pruitt of Fayetteville, Ark.; nephew, Harold Pruitt and wife, Mary, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; a host of great nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephew.
Pallbearers will be Tom Pingry, Junior Wilson, Taylor Pingry, Kelly Weston, Kevin Hutcheson, Thad McLemore, Greg McLemore and Russell Wiskosky. Honorary pallbearer will be Roger Minnich.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Mindy Patton and Tracy Pingry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Ark. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
