Hazel Daniels Buckelew, 81, of Rogers died March 28, 1993, at a local nursing center. She was born May 30, 1911, in Sulphur Springs, the second of three daughters born to George F. and Ida M. Mosier Daniels.
Following graduation from Sulphur Springs High School, she completed training as a registered nurse at the old Fayetteville City Hospital.
She married Holis H. Buckelew on Oct. 21, 1932. Dr. Buckelew was later a Rogers physician and served as first Chief of Staff of St. Mary's-Rogers Memorial Hospital. Following Dr. Buckelew's death in 1950, she worked for many years as receptionist and bookkeeper for Dr. James L. Pickins. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers.
She is survived by a son, John D. Buckelew of Richmond, Va.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers with Dr. Claiborne M. Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery.
The family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church Library Fund or to the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.
