Miss Rachel S. Christy died on Tuesday morning at 2:35 o'clock at the home of her father, B. Christy, one-half mile north of Rogers. Her death was caused by consumption. She was first taken ill last February while visiting with her sister at Odessa, Mo. She came home in May but the change did no good and she steadily grew worse. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased on Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by Rev. C.H. Metts and T.J. Keller. The remains were laid to rest in the Rogers cemetery. Miss Christy was born on Feb. 27, 1882 at Odessa, Mo. She came with her parents to Benton county nine years ago and until a year ago lived near Avoca. Two years ago Miss Christy attended Rogers Academy. She was a member of the Christian church. The death of Miss Christy is a sad blow to the relatives and friends and they have the sympathy of the community.
