CLOUSTON, Gary Nellette TULLY - Mrs. Charley Clouston died at an early hour yesterday morning a her home at Nettette Ranch, ten miles southeast of Rogers. Her condition had been very critical for several weeks and her death hourly expected for some time. Only unusual vitality with a tenacious desire to recover kept her alive so long. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church of Rogers Friday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ben H. Moore. The body will be placed in the Bentonville mausoleum, waiting later arrangements as to the final resting place. Mrs. Clouston came to Benton county from St. Louis some fifteen years ago and bought the property on White river that has since become the Nellette Ranch, famous thruout the county as the home of one of the finest Island Jersey herds in the Southwest. Mr. Clouston, who was in business in St. Louis, spent only a portion of his time here in the early years of the making of the Ranch and the management was in the hands of Mrs. Clouston and her manager, Larry Palm. When in the last days of her illness Mrs. Clouston desired to see the famous Nellette Ranch Jerseys, which were being shown at the various Missouri fairs and which had already won many honors, they were brought home from Carthage Sunday. Mrs. Clouston was born at Salem, Ill. and was 48 years old. Her maiden name was Gary Nellette Tully. She married Charley Clouston in 1893 and most of their life, before she came to Northwest Arkansas for her health, was spent in St. Louis. They had no children. A nephew, Frank Tully, lived with them at the Ranch. Mrs. Clouston was a big hearted woman with many splendid qualities and the spirit of kindness, charity and helpfulness were perhaps best known in her own neighborhood where she was for many years the guardian saint for the sick and needy on every possible occasion. She will be missed by an unusually large circle of friends and acquaintances, both here and abroad.

{from Rogers} The funeral of Mrs. Nellette Tully Clouston, prominent throughout this section as the founder of the famous Nellette Ranch, who died at her home near Rogers Wednesday morning following a long illness, was held from the First Presbyterian church at Rogers Friday afternoon. The body was placed in the Bentonville mausoleum where it will remain until a place of burial has been selected. She is survived by her husband, Charles Clouston and two nephews, Frank and Henry Tully of Philadelphia. Mrs. Clouston was a second cousin of the late WIlliam Jennings Bryan. Throughout northwestern Arkansas Mrs. Clouston was noted for the famous ranch she founded eight miles east of Rogers and which is famed for its progressive stock raising methods. Mrs. Clouston moved to Rogers from St. Louis fifteen years ago following the advice of physicians. She had practically regained her health until the last illness. Loved and greatly admired in Rogers was Mrs. Clouston for her philanthropic work. She was a leader in the community and her loss will be greatly felt. After establishing the Nellette Ranch she stocked it with registered cattle, imported from the Isle of Jersey. One herd was brought from the Missouri fair where they were on exhibition last week, that the owner might get a farewell look upon her prize winning herd. She also had a kennel of English bulldogs, one of which was her constant companion until its death last month. Hundreds of tourists visited the ranch annually where they were always welcomed by the owner.
