NOEL, Mo. — Richard E. Daylong, age 81, of Noel, Mo., graciously passed away on the morning of Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. He was born on Oct. 17, 1932, to Elmus and Jule Daylong of Rogers, Ark.

Richard was a 1952 graduate of Rogers High School and a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean War, serving in the United States Navy for 20 years. Following his 20 years of service, he worked for the Veterans Administration in Fayetteville, Ark., until his retirement.

He followed the death of his first wife, Francis Daylong; and daughter, Debbie Jump.

He was survived by his second wife, Susan Daylong of Noel, Mo.; three children, Mike Winchester, Martha Heller, husband Randall, of West Fork, Ark., and William Daylong, wife Tilli, of Bentonville, Ark.; with a total of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His grandchildren are as followed, Melissa Hughes of Beeville, Texas, Tim Winchester of Houston, Texas, Dawn Sterling of Rogers, Ark., Jason Dietch of Fayetteville, Ark., Josh Dietch of West Fork, Ark., Matthew Daylong of Bella Vista, Ark., and Taylor Daylong of Bentonville, Ark.

He had a passion for being outside, cutting wood with his son and grandson, recycling, sharing stories of his past and making memories with his family.

Memorials can be made to the Rogers Activity Center Scholarship Fund.
