Dr. Donald Eugene Dick of Rogers died Monday, July 3, 1995, at his home. He was born in Freeport, Ill., to William Cyrus and Jenny MacCormick Dick.

Dick received his bachelor's degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, his M.D. from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and interned at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Ill. He attended the U.S. Army Medical Field Service School in Carlisle, Penn., the AFTAC Service School for tropical medicine in Orlando; the Air Corps Service School for psychiatric medicine in Pasagrille, Fla.; and the School of Aviation in Medicine at Randolph Field in San Antonio, Texas. He served in World War II as a squadron and flight surgeon in Australia and the South Pacific Theater. After his return to the United States, he was a staff physician at the Covalescent Hospital in Pasagrille with the U.S. Air Corps. From 1944 to 1969, he practiced medicine as a general practitioner and surgeon in St. Charles, Ill. While in private practice he was occupation physician for Owens Illinois Glass Co., General Mills and Hawley and Howell Cos. in St. Charles. From 1969 to 1981 he was a staff physician at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Fayetteville. He served as county and state adviser for the American Association of Medical Assistants and was a member of the American Medical Association, Kane County Medical Association, the Occupational Medicine Association, Alpha Kappa Kappa Medical Fraternity, the Medinah Temple Shrine and Scottish Rites of Chicago. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers. After retirement, he volunteered at the Rogers Public Library and St. Mary's Hospital.

Survivors are his wife, Joan; two sons, Richard John Dick of Pensacola, Fla., and Scott E. Dick of Rogers; four daughters, Donna "Buffy" Gordon of Rogers, Jennifer Dick of Conway, Ark., Susan Puccio and Kathy Cargill, both Denver, Colo.; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Bobby C. Bell and Roger Gibson officiating. A celebration gathering will follow at the home. Local arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Rogers Public Library, 711 S. Dixieland Road, Rogers, Ark., 72758, or St. Mary's Hospital Hospice program, 1200 W. Walnut St., Rogers, Ark., 72756.
