Garlen Curry Is Found Dead

Garlen E. Curry, 64, of Deane Solomon Road was found dead in the yard of his home this morning. Washington County Coroner Dr. John Vanzant said Curry died of an apparent heart attack.

Vanzant said Curry had been dead about 12 hours when he was found by his son at 7:23 a.m. this morning, lying across the handle of a lawn mower.

Fayetteville police Patrolman Jim Acker said Curry was mowing his lawn when he suffered the heart attack and fell across the lawn mower which bad run out of fuel. The yard was partially mowed, Acker said.

He was born May 27, 1910 at Wheeler, the son of Edward and Nina Altaffer Curry and was an employee of McClinton Brothers Construction Co.

Survivors are two sons, Ronald W. and Arlen V. of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Gayle Bader of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Newport of Bryan, Tex. and Mrs. Corrine McCoy of Neosho, Mo. and nine grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by Watson Mortuary.

Garlen E. Curry, 64, Fayetteville, died Aug. 21 at his home. Born May 27, 1910, at Wheeler, he was the son of Edward and Nina Altaffer Curry and was employed at McClinton Bros. Const. Co.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald W. Curry and Arlen V. Curry, Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Gayle Bader, Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Blanch Newport, Brian, Tex. and Mrs. Corrine McCoy, Neosho, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Watson Mortuary of Fayetteville.

Funeral services for Garlen E. Curry, 64, Fayetteville, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Comfort Church with the Rev. Jimmy Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Watson Mortuary of Fayetteville.

Survivors include two sons, one daughter, two sisters and 11 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Comfort Cemetery trust fund in care of Mrs. Bert Nelson, Rt. 2, Fayetteville.
