DIVINE, Mabel MARTIN - Word has been received in Rogers stating that Mrs. Lou Divine had died this morning at 7:30 at Roy, New Mexico and that the body was expected to arrive here some time Thursday, funeral arrangements to be announced later. Mrs. Divine was the daughter of Mrs. L.B. Powell of this city and had lived here most of her life. She formerly was Miss Mabel Martin and with her husband had visited in Rogers practically every summer. Mr. Divine was superintendent of the deaf school at Little Rock 1925-1926. He had been an instructor in a similar school in Georgia the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Divine visited in Rogers for several months this summer and while here Mrs. Divine's health was in a serious condition and they moved to New Mexico thinking that the change in climate would benefit her health. Besides her husband, Mr. Lou Divine, Mrs. Divine leaves a daughter, Patsy, age three years; three uncles, Charley Milligan, Rogers; Dr. Milligan, Miami, Okla. and Jim Milligan of Vaughn; two aunts, Mrs. Moore of Rogers and another at Pineville, Mo.; her father, George D. Martin, lives in Washington and her mother, Mrs. L.B. Powell, Rogers. Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Powell were at her bedside when she passed away, they having left Rogers the latter part of last week.

Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Powell and Mr. Lou Divine arrived this morning from Roy, N.M. with the body of Mrs. Lou Divine who passed away at that place Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held from the Powell home on South Third Street tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. W.H. Andrew of the Baptist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements will be in charge of J.W. Bryant and interment will be in the Rogers Cemetery.
