Original homesteader in 1883-84. Born in Lawrence County, Tennessee. Migrated to McGhee County, OK in 1858. Lost first family there. Married Nancy Ann Posey in Neosho, Newton County, MO and lived in Rutledge, McDonald County, MO until moving to Cedar, Carroll County, AR along Leatherwood Creek where a Homestead Application was granted in 1884 to his Widow, Nancy. Father of 3 boys: William, John Thomas and Henry and 4 girls: Alice, Mary, Eliza, and Viola.
