SPRINGDALE — Mary Lou Dowell Mayo, 79 of Springdale died Friday, July 20, 2012, in Bentonville. She was born Nov. 21, 1932, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Hugh Densmore Snapp and Dorothy Alene Wallace.

She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mayo, and a daughter, Annette Dowell.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Witcher of Colcord, Okla., Kathy Holtzclaw and husband, Benny, of Springdale; step-son, Mike Mayo of Fayetteville; three grandsons, Clay Witcher and, wife, Melissa, of Tupelo, Miss., Cary Witcher and wife, Jessica, of New Market, Tenn., Matt Holtzclaw of Springdale; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Moore's Chapel from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Moore's Chapel with Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating. Burial to follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in her name be made to The American Heart Association or Circle of Life Hospice.
