William V. (Bill) Minter, 72, died Thursday at his home in the Salem Community. Born Jan. 17, 1897 in McPherson County, Kan., the son of Andrea and Lillian Minter, he was retired from Arkansas Western Gas Co., was a Veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and the Baptist Church.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary Minter of the home; one son, Stanley M. of Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Castling of Fort Smith and Mrs. K. L. Dickerson of Fayetteville; four brothers, Farley of Frederick, Okla., John and Kenneth, both of Oklahoma City and Charley of California; four sisters, Mrs. Agatha Lance and Mrs. Addie Plumtree, both of Frederick, Mrs. Grace Matthews of Pueblo, Colo. and Mrs. Zelda Orr of Ojai, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel with burial at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
