SPRINGDALE — Walter Willis, 90, of Springdale died Feb, 26, 2009, at Springdale. He was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Barner Springs to W.G. and Minnie Smith Willis.

He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon.

He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Willis, and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Watson Willis of the home, whom he married Aug. 8, 1943; his children, Earl Willis and wife Linda of Fort Worth, Texas, Ina Bowen and husband Maine of Springdale, and Denver Willis and wife Carrie of Springdale; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Coy Willis of Deer and Lewis Willis of Kansas City, Kan., and a sister, Clercie Daniels of Jasper.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Donnie Villines, the Rev. Jerry Henshaw and the Rev. Stacy Vallines officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m today at Westfield Chapel in Springdale, online at www.westfieldchapel.com.

SPRINGDALE — Ida E. Willis, 92, of Springdale passed from this life to her eternal home on Aug. 1, 2013. She was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Shiloh, Ark., to Flemon and Annie Self Watson.

Ida Watson was married to Walter Willis on Aug. 8, 1943. They were married 65 years until his death on Feb. 26, 2009. She worked as a cook at the Evelyn Hills Restaurant for 26 years. Her church family always requested scrumptious fried apple pies. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Flemon and Annie Watson; her husband, Walter Willis; a son, Earl Willis; a grandson, Randy Willis; and siblings Fina Douthit, Ada Reynolds, Mel Carney, George Watson, Nancy Sams, John Watson, Lewis Watson, Leta Riley, Francis Watson, Maye Neal and Nola Edgemon.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Earl Willis and his wife, Linda, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Denver Willis and his wife, Carrie, of Springdale; a daughter, Ina Bowen of Springdale; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at from 3-5 p.m. today, Aug. 4, 2013, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale. The Rev. Stacey Villines will be officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral at Friendship Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Willard Walker Hospice Home.
