SPRINGDALE — Reba Jane McAbee, 68, of Springdale died March 16, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. She was born Dec. 2, 1939, in Rutherfordton, N.C., to Clery Grady and Lula Mae Henson Childers.

She attended Living Hope Baptist Church in Elm Springs and was retired from Emerson Electric Co. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Leonard McAbee of the home; four sons, Jim "J.R." Gordon and wife Anita of Rogers, Kevin McAbee of Gentry, Randy McAbee and wife Liz of Bethel Heights and Justin McAbee of the home; two daughters, Sheila Meyers and Charles of Bentonville and Rita Hall of Gaffney, S.C.; one nephew and niece who she raised, Rick Allen of Duncan, S.C., and Marie Bowman of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers, Wayne Childers and Jerry Childers, both of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Linda Moore and Ruby Smith, both of Rutherfordton and Martha Allen of Gaffney, S.C.; 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, www.memfuneral.com.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Luther Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Gordon, Kevin McAbee, Randy McAbee, Aaron McAbee, Jeremy Bowman and Michael Wood.
