George William (Bill) Brown 88, of Mountain View, Arkansas died August 14, 2014 at his home. He was born September 29, 1925 to Thomas J. and Zada (Moody) Brown at Vernon, Texas. Bill was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired mechanic and was a welder who helped build Liberty Ships during World War ll. By trade he was a wood worker and upholsterer. Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill and his sense of humor will He missed by family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxey Lee (Stigall) Brown of the home; son Stanley Brown and wife, Gin of Mountain View, Arkansas; daughter Ramona Lee Chandler and husband, Terry of Batesville, Arkansas; two grandchildren Darrel Duke and Emily Chandler.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas J. and Zada (Moody) Brown, a brother James Brown, sisters Hazel Daws and Aldeen Hardin.
Graveside service will be 10:00am at Flatwoods cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas August 16, 2014. Brother Will Thompson will be officiating. Pallbearers are David Brown, Stephen Brown, Terry Chandler, Darrell Allen Duke, Roger Brewer, and Brandon Carr. Honorary pallbearer Maxey D. Stigall.
