SON OF JOHN R. DUTY DIES OF PNEUMONIA
John R. Duty Jr. youngest son of Attorney and Mrs. John R. Duty, died at the City Hospital in Fayetteville last Thursday afternoon following a short illness of pneumonia. He was 18 years of age.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Conner Morehead, pastor of the Central M.E. Church, were held Friday afternoon. Members of the frailty of the high school and letter men of the school’s athletic squad acted as honorary and active pall bearers. The services were largely attended and the floral offerings many and beautiful.
Besides his parents he is survived by four brothers, Jeff, Charles, Ireland and Ralph, also by his grandmother, Mrs. Helen Duty, and an uncle, Claude Duty.
