LOWELL — Jerry Ralph Kitterman, 72, passed away on June 23, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Ark. He was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Grainola, Okla., to Ralph Albert and Bertha Alberta (Johnson) Kitterman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in- law, Thomas Fletcher, Aaron, Ross, and Robert LeRoy Schopp; and his sister-in-law, Linda Kitterman.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Rogers High School. He served for four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine USS Becuna. After returning home from the Navy, he moved to West Fork, Ark. He was an employee of Standard Register Co. in Fayetteville for 43 years until his retirement in 2002. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

While living in West Fork, he was an active member of the volunteer fire department. During his time there, he also served for a period as city clerk and worked with the Boy Scouts. He moved to Lowell in 1988.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Schopp Kitterman, of the home; two sons, Allen and wife, Rachel, of Mount Vernon, Ind, and Joe of Lowell, Ark.; four grandsons, Joshua and wife, Courtney, of Fayetteville, Nicholas and wife, Leanne, of Centerton, Garrett and Grady of Mount Vernon, Ind.; one great-granddaughter, Abby; two stepgrandchildren, Noora Parker and Dante Rodriguez; and one great-grandson on the way, Conner Kitterman.

He is also survived by two brothers, Ben Kitterman of Rogers, Ark., and Bob Kitterman of Pea Ridge; two sisters, Ruth Fletcher of Overland Park, Kan., and Bonnie and husband, Jim Scott, of Bella Vista. He is survived by brother- and sisters-in-law, Jake and Virginia Stokes of Rogers, Frances Schopp of Rogers, and Catherine Little of Anthony, Kan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Callison-Lough, with the Revs. Steven Johnson and Randy Burris officiating. Interment will follow at Tuck's Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road. Springdale, AR 72762.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

LOWELL — Ruth Elizabeth Schopp Kitterman, 74, of Lowell, passed away on May 19, 2015. She was born on Dec. 17, 1940, in Seligman, Mo., to Milton Roy and Nora (Hudson) Schopp.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Kitterman in 2011; brothers, Aaron, Ross, Wayne, and Robert Leroy Schopp; a sister, Catherine Little; mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Bertha Kitterman; brothers and sister-in-law Ligah Pope, Thomas Fletcher, and Linda Kitterman.

Ruth was married to Jerry Ralph Kitterman on Sept. 2, 1958. They were married for 52 years.

She graduated as valedictorian at Southwest High School in Washburn, Mo., class of 1959. After graduation, she joined her husband in New London, Conn., where he was stationed with the Navy.

After he returned home from the Service they moved to West Fork, Ark. Ruth worked for West Fork Schools for 32 years, starting as a secretary and bookkeeper and then as an administrative assistant to the Superintendent. She retired in 2001.

Ruth and Jerry moved to Lowell in 1988. She was an active member of Silent Grove Baptist Church in Springdale for several years. She served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and choir member.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Allen Kitterman and wife Rachel of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Joe Dean Kitterman and wife Marsha of Lowell; grandsons, Joshua and wife Courtney, of Bella Vista, Nicholas and wife Leanne of Sherman, Texas, Garrett, and Grady Kitterman, both of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; step-grandchildren, Kyle Hayes and Amber Scott; great-grandchildren, Abby, Asher, and Connor Kitterman; step-great-grandchildren, Noora Parker, Dante Rodriguez, and Holden Scott. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia Stokes and husband Jake (J.D.) of Rogers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frances Schopp of Rogers, Ruth Fletcher of Overland Park, Kan., Bonnie and Jim Scott of Bella Vista, Bob and Kitty Kitterman of Rogers; Ben Kitterman of Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Silent Grove Baptist Church, 4123 Silent Grove Rd., Springdale 72762. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. Burial will follow at Tucks Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Silent Grove Baptist Church, St. Jude Children's Hospitals, or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
