PEA RIDGE — Henry Lee Murphy, 71, of Pea Ridge died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonville. He was born on Oct. 31, 1940, to Denver Miles Murphy and Gladys Mae (Bohannon) Murphy in a cabin in War Eagle.

He married Karen Jane Brust on May 27, 1966, in Pineville, Mo. They were married 46 years. He worked as a plant engineer, licensed electrician, boiler engineer, tool and die-maker, maintenance man for Cargill and Welch Grape Juice. He also flew private planes until he got sick and had to quit. Henry loved the outdoors. Drag-racing was his hobby in his younger years and he really enjoyed cars. Henry was ill for 21 years before his passing and will be missed.

Preceded in death by his parents; Henry is survived by his wife, Karen of the home; one daughter, Sabrina Marie Hedge and husband, Andy, of Bentonville; one son, Kevin Van Murphy of Lafayette, La., area; six grandchildren, Tyler Murphy Hedge, Alexa Rachel Hedge, Nicholas Andrew Hedge, Lillian Mary Hedge, all of Bentonville, and Destiny Murphy of Dallas, Texas, and Heather Murphy of Springdale.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Tuck's Chapel Cemetery, with Mark Voll officiating.

A gathering will be hosted following the service at the Pea Ridge Historical Society school heritage budding for all friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Mr. Murphy's name at any Arvest Bank.
