TONTITOWN — J.D. (John David Henry) Bixler, 72-year-old resident of Tontitown, Ark., passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on June 21, 2014. Born April 5, 1942, in Copeland, Ark., he was the son of Mae Bell Lott and Alvin Bixler. J.D. was raised by his grandparents, Henry T. Lott and Mollie Victoria Lott in the White Oak Community. He married Shirley Delozier on May 29, 1961, in Harmon, Ark. J.D. worked as a farmer for most of his life, worked for the City of Springdale and drove a school bus for Springdale Public Schools. He was a member of Harmon United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, five brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild, Morgan Hamilton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Bixler; three daughters, Cindy Lyman and husband Mike of Fayetteville, Sheri May and husband Chris of Springdale, Kristi Hamilton and husband Jeff of Tontitown; one brother, Clifton Bixler of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Virginia Smith of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Velma Riddle of Moxie, Wash.; five grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jim Lewis, Kendall Reynolds, Randall Reynolds, Gary Reynolds, Paul Bixler and Mike Delozier. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Glen Lott, Kent Delozier, Terry Delozier, Larry Delozier and Brian Delozier.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Pastor Michael Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery, Elm Springs, Ark.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, June 23, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
