Arnold Vernon Benedict was the son of Corydon Julius Benedict and Cora Lee Braswell. In 1926 he married Sybil Mae Duncan in El Dorado, Arkansas and they had two daughters: Dorthea Mae (Smith) and Bettie Jean (King) Benedict. His second wife was L. Louise Andrews.
