CARTER, Henry - {from Cane Hill} Uncle Henry Carter died very suddenly here Saturday night. He fell Saturday morning but did not sustain any injuries that were noticeable. He was living with his daughter, Mrs. Yoe. Uncle Henry was born near Greenville, Tenn. in January 1839. He was married to a Miss Jackson in 1861. To this union was born one child, Mrs. D.L. Yoe. Mrs. Carter preceded him to the grave about one year. He is survived by two brothers, two sisters, one daughter and a host of friends who mourn his loss. His death came very unexpectedly. His daughter, after she had prepared breakfast went to call him to get ready for breakfast but she received no response. She called again and no response. She then went to his bedside and found that he could not be roused. His eyes were closed as in natural sleep and his position showed that death was instantaneous. Uncle Henry was a good man. He professed religion when a boy and has ever been confident in the Great Jehovah. The family and relatives have the deep sympathy of all the community.
