DECATUR — Claude E Swarengin, 91, of Decatur died Aug. 15, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1908, in Hot Springs to James Richard and Samantha Jane Johnson Swarergin. He was a retired farmer and moved to Decatur in 1995 from Dexter, N.M. He was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Swarengin of the home; one son, Wayne of Decatur; six grandchildren, Russell Swarengin of Noel, Mo., Steve Swarengin and Sandy Eppers, both of Dexter, Gaye Betts and Donna Davis, both of Decatur, Jody Lee of Kansas, Okla.; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry with the Rev. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery near Decatur.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

DECATUR — Mae Lorene Swarengin, 91, of Decatur died Dec. 30, 2004, at her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1913, in Texarkana, Texas, to John Nathan and Ellen Barnett Monk. A retired cook for the Roswell Public Schools, she move to the area in 1995 from Dexter, N.M. She was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude E. Swarengin in 2000 and by a son, Ray Swarengin, in 1975.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Swarengin and wife Jeanene, of the home; a brother, Dean Brinkley of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry with the Rev. Larry Hendren officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
