James Lonnie "Jay" Grubbs Sr., 62, of Clarksville, the brother of Kay Grubbs and Emma Turner, both of Melber, Ky., died at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
A native of Hayti, Mo., Mr. Grubbs was of the Baptist faith.
Besides his sisters, Mr. Grubbs is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elsie Grubbs; two sons, James "Jimmy" Grubbs Jr. of Arnold, Mo., and Bruce Crafton of St. Louis; two daughters, Donna Hill of Clarksville and Deborah Grubbs of Conway, Ark.; three sisters, Martha Reynolds of Arnold, Mary Wood of Imperial, Mo., and Wanda Whitener of Fort Myers, Fla.; eight brothers, David Grubbs of Belle, Mo., Larry Grubbs of Conway, Phillip Grubbs of Pearland, Texas, Jerry Grubbs of St. Louis, Garry Grubbs and Billy Grubbs, both of Olympia, Wash., and Jackie Grubbs and Tony Grubbs, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother preceded Mr. Grubbs in death.
His parents were the Rev. Alvia and Mellie Wilkerson Grubbs.
Entombment will be at a later date in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Ark.
