Bernard "Bernie" Lee Johnson son of Riley L Johnson and Clarice E (Williams) Johnson. Katherine Louise "Kaye" (Nickerson) Johnson daughter of James W Nickerson and Edna Mae (Beckett) Nickerson. Bernie was born in Greenwood, Sebastian County, Arkansas and died in Arkansas.

Bernard “Bernie” L. Johnson of Dolph, son of the late Riley and Clarice Williams Johnson, was born February 14, 1927 in Greenwood. He died August 27, 1996. He was 69.
Mr. Johnson was united in marriage to Katherine Nickerson August 26, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Johnie Johnson of Dolph and Charles Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister, Nova Lowry of Dolph and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Charles Allen Sanders, Clarence Lowry, Donald Lowry, Troy Lowry, Clint Rhine and Robert Rhine.
Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Sanders, Bill Davis, Arthur Langston, and Junior Owens.
Interment was at the Dolph Baptist Cemetery in Dolph under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Disabled Veterans.

Katherine Louise Nickerson Johnson, daughter of the late James W. Nickerson and Edna Mae Beckett Nickerson, was born January 29, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life December 2, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 3 days.
She was united in marriage to Bernard Lee Johnson and to this union two sons were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she was employed by the Sealright Company in DeSota, Kansas. She retired after 43 years of employment. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Dolph Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Johnie Johnson and Charles R. Johnson both of Dolph; two grandchildren: Sarah E. Taylor of Calico Rock and Joshua S. Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; two great grandchildren: Ryan Lee McCoy and Katelyn McCoy and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister: Lorene Mae Fladten.
Funeral service will be Thursday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Dolph Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ryan Lee McCoy, Katelyn McCoy and Joshua Johnson.
