OXFORD — Tammie Gaye Gibson Owens, 50, of Oxford died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Salem.
Born Oct. 3, 1960, in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of Charles R. Gibson and Sherry A. Ellis Gibson Cunningham. She was united in marriage to David K. Owens on June 12, 2004, in Ash Flat. She was employed at Pioneer Nursing and Rehabilitation in Melbourne as a certified nursing assistant. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Peace Valley.
Survivors include her husband of seven years, David K. Owens; three sons, William Scott King of Paragould and Teddy Owens and David Tyler Owens, both of Oxford; two brothers, Greg Cunningham of Evening Shade and Charles A. Gibson of Ash Flat; two sisters, Julie Duncan of Horseshoe Bend and Terry Ross of Conway; her grandmother, Guelda Gibson of Ash Flat; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donnie P. Cunningham; and her grandparents, Hanly Gibson and William Hubert and Mattie V. Ellis.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Leon Morehead officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Travis Duncan, Keith Duncan, Nathan Duncan, Gordon Owens, Shannon Womack and Merrill "Mud" Lindsey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
