DECATUR — Joe T. Grimmett, 61, of Decatur died June 30, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Hayworth, Okla., to Tom and Dora Mae Pool Grimmett. He moved to the area in 1946 from Hayworth. He was a construction worker, a Baptist and a member of the Bass Masters Association. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and yard work. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Cledith Faye Ward Grimmett, to whom he was married June 5, 1969; two sons, Leslie Joseph Grimmett of Gravette and Monte Lee Beaty of Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Dollar of Springdale and Recinda Thompson O'Neal of Dayton, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Sanders; two sisters, Carolyn Jacobs of Pierce, Neb., and Dorothy Grimmett of Texas; seven stepgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur.
Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Gravette.
