GENTRY — Clyde H. Edwards Jr., 79, of Gentry died Jan. 2, 2005, in Fayetteville. He was born June 8, 1925, in Purcell, Okla., to Clyde H. Edwards Sr. and Willie Gosnell Edwards. He moved to Gentry in 1957 from Paoli, Okla. He married Dorothy Richard in 1946. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Sea Bees. He was a brick mason and raised clinic on his farm. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Gentry.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home; four sons, Randal Edwards of Arlington, Texas, Lonnie Edwards and wife Portia of Gentry, Russell Edwards and wife Diana of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joel Dale Edwards and wife Karen of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Normona Smith of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Bernice Gibson and Loreta Hodges, both of Lexington, Okla. and Margie Biggs of Stratford, Okla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Gentry with Robin Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery near Gentry.

Visitation will be front 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
