When Edmond Alphen Stroud was born on March 9, 1915, in Coffey, Arkansas, his father, John, was 22 and his mother, Margaret, was 21. He married Eugenia Rushin Stroud on September 29, 1940. He died on April 1, 1998, in his hometown at the age of 83.
