Henry Clifton Stroud was born on April 18, 1898, in Coffey, Arkansas. He married Annie Mae Williams on October 31, 1917. They had four children in 12 years. He died on February 13, 1967, in St Louis, Missouri, at the age of 68, and was buried in White, Arkansas.

When Annie Mae Williams was born on July 28, 1896, in Mississippi, her father, William, was 26, and her mother, Rebecca, was 24. She had four children from one relationship. She then married Henry Clifton Stroud and they had four children together. She died on August 8, 1986, in Festus, Missouri, at the age of 90, and was buried in White, Arkansas.
